How DataGuard Works:
Tarver Program Consultants, Inc. maintains a secured,
fault-tolerant fileserver storage vault for DataGuard Software to
use to store client backups. A separate account is maintained for
each user and each account is protected by a password known only
to the user!
The electronic vault system is set up so that at a preset time,
usually late at night a client's computer automatically wakes up
and prepares selected data for backup, identifies which files are
to be included in the backup, compresses them, encrypts them for
security. Once the data is ready the computer uses a broadband
Internet connection to contact the offsite DataGuard Servers and
transmits the encrypted files for storage.
The DataGuard Servers verify and store the data. The DataGuard
Servers are configured with RAID5 level drive array that allows
the servers to continue operation even if multiple server hard
drives fail. Once per week, external hard drives are brought in
from off-site and the backups are backed up and returned to their
own off-site storage facility. You can rest assured that your data
